Description
The Last Five Years by Jason Robert Brown, presented by Phoenix in residence at The Arts Asylum. An intimate two-person musical: Cathy tells her story from the end of the marriage backward while Jamie moves forward chronologically, their timelines meeting only once.
AUDITIONS: Wed, Aug 5 & Thu, Aug 6, 2026, 6:00-9:00 PM at The Arts Asylum, 824 E. Meyer Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64131. Callbacks (by invitation): Mon, Aug 10, 6:00-9:00 PM.
ROLES: Catherine Hiatt - female presenting, late 20s-early 40s. Jamie Wellerstein - male presenting, late 20s-early 40s. Equity and non-Equity actors welcome; all roles receive a stipend.
PREPARE: A 16-bar (30-45 sec) cut of a contemporary musical theatre song in the style of the show (please do not prepare music from the show), plus a headshot/resume if available. Video submissions welcomed for the initial round.
REHEARSALS: Sept 8-Oct 15, 2026. PERFORMANCES: Oct 16-24, 2026 at The Arts Asylum.
